The art of stretching A CanvasThe Art of Stretching a Canvas
Throughout the ages, masters of painting created works of art on many different surfaces, but the most effective and luring of these was canvas. Unfortunately, for them, the common art store did not exist. Therefore they had to resort to crafting their own canvases with supplies that were available.
Today, this method is still used and not only does it keep the tradition alive, it is also practical and rewarding. To begin you will need these materials: four stretcher bars, Canvas, linen, or cotton sheets, staple guns and a few extra staples, a stretcher grip, a large paint brush, some screws, wire, and finally to give a nice touch and a smooth flat surface, Gesso. You may also want a friend's assistance for it can be difficult to do alone.
You are now ready to start. First, choose four stretcher bars to achieve the desired size of canvas. Connect the bars together to create a frame. Then use an inner corner of a door jam to press the edges of your bars ag
Black BirdBlack Bird
The cicadas sing in the trees,
Just the thought of it makes me sad.
The buzz of the dying bees
Makes the end of summer feel bad.
As bad as the plane crashing to the ground,
As bad as the bear being shot,
Just as bad as the hammer's pound,
On the only thumb I've got.
Why are there tears in your eyes?
Why does the black bird call?
Why does sun fall from the sky?
When will the frost die to dew?
When will dusk turn to dawn?
When will the flowers be new?
It's all come to a journeys end,
The black bird flies to the sea,
Will we ever meet again?
Across the sea goes the black bird,
Flying away from me with all that I heard.
Lay down your head, listen for the birds.
Wipe the tears off your face,
Soon they'll be back with the white gulls,
On white ships back to this place.
Last ThoughtsLast Thoughts
Hearts fallen through out the ages,
Words broken through out the world.
The knife stays strong
While the cut breaks open.
The arrow still spins strong
As it passes through Achilles tendon.
And though I tried I'm still achin',
The wound is worst than your words.
Blood pours down while the gun is cooling.
(The knife begins to break)
Something I saw in his eyes made me cry,
(The arrow begins to snap)
I saw his anger as it spilled with my blood,
(The gun begins to crack)
His tears were as silent as my breath.
Slowly I hugged him before I left.
(Before I left)
Dying apart I saw the reason why,
He tried to hold it but the wound seeped,
(I am dying)
In the tangle of blood he said sorry.
I said something I though I never would,
I forgive you, I know how it feels
To be so wounded.
I know how the knife shatters,
(Knife has shattered)
How the arrow snaps,
(Arrow has broken)
How the gun breaks,
(Gun has crac
Loves Most TreauredLove's Most Treasured
Give me a thousand daisies,
Smudge the moon across the sky,
Bring white ships to the shore,
Spread the silver grass of autumn,
Heal the white lilies' scars,
Spill your words over the floor,
Plunge me deep in love,
Escape from sorrow,
Like a dragon fly in the wind,
Miss the train fir me,
Watch for November's blue,
Between dusk and dawn,
Play the stars' melody,
Paint with your words,
Fly without wings,
But most of all...
Accidentally fall in love with me.
I'm living through it all,
You won't know what I mean,
But it's happening as I fall down,
Into that big black hole,
It's scooping me out again,
Then it lets me drop like sand.
I can't hold on as I slip away,
I'm going down,
Into a pool of water,
It's choking me with its hands,
I'm slipping away and there's no stop,
And I can't reach the top,
I've failed now I'm headin'
I've hit rock bottom,
And now all I can do is
